Sian Stevens Intro

Whether your journey with sports massage is just beginning or if you are accustomed to the ins and outs of manual therapy, I’m glad you found me. Hi, hello, welcome!!!

My interest in sports massage started with my own physical training background. From a very young age and well into my teens, I trained, sometimes twice a day, to swim competitively. For my degree, I also went on to study at a professional dance school, Northern School of Contemporary Dance. In this high intensity training environment, my body was my tool and my daily pursuit was to fine tune it in order to better my performance.

During these years, I began to pay more attention to my own body as well as becoming more aware of the injuries amongst my peers. I would visit my massage therapist on a weekly basis to prevent or aid in the recovery of injury. It was often the highlight of the week, not only for the feeling of relief afterwards but for the time to connect with and learn about my body. My curiosity was constantly growing at this point, and the natural progression was for me to begin my own journey of study; to train as a massage therapist. And here I am, years later, with a Level 5 Professional Diploma in Sports and Remedial therapy from the prestigious NLSSM, The School of Sports Massage.

Over the years I have seen a variety of clients; from iron man athletes, gym bunnies, cyclists, new mums and desk workers. I pride myself on tailoring each session to the individual needs of the patient, and as my passion grows my study continues; I am keen to explore new avenues of remedial massage, keeping up to date with cutting edge treatments whilst also trusting and relying on my own expertise.

Outside of my sports massage, my active life continues, I am currently training for the Seaford 2020 Triathlon. I’ll be talking through the trials, tribulations and niggles as they arise, as well as showing you some of the therapies I’ll be using to get me through the gruelling training.
